There’s a little snow left – Creag Meagaidh conditions.

Took a walk up to Creag Meagaidh with team Bradford to check out the conditions and snow on the hill. My sister Bryony and Dad have had a wet week of it, but it was a nice walk up to the window and back for a short day. The grade I gully lines are complete but there’s not a whole lot else to climb. There’s plenty of rock fall evidence on the snow as well, plus some impressive waterfalls off the cliffs. Please bring the winter...

Extreme Buffeting in the Cairngorms, again.

First day climbing with my Dad this year. We battled the southerly wind into Sneachda and after a couple of detours made our way to the Mess of Pottage which turned out to be quite sheltered. We headed up Hidden Chimney direct, which was a great route, some hero hooks on the first pitch (IV, 5) and then some good fun mixed climbing on the normal route (III) at the top. We got totally blasted by the wind on the plateau, and it was whistling over point 1141. We wanted a different walk out but it was hard going...
