The luck of the draw

Last weekend was a bit like a mini international meet in Portland, four clients from around the globe now living in London and climbing regularly at their local wall making them ideal candidates for a weekend learning to lead on some great sport routes. Great weather and conditions on Mont Blanc

Fresh snow and stopped anyone climbing Mont Blanc for a couple of days, so we were very lucky to get a weather window right at the end of the trip for an attempt. Everyone was super quick, and we had to pass lots of teams who had set off from the Gouter hut, hard going in the soft snow. We set off from the Tete Rousse at 1.45am, and were on the summit for 7. A guides day off – Frendo Spur

It’s been a contrasting couple of weeks here in the alps. Terrible weather last week, with cold temperatures and fresh snow and then this week the freezing level has rocketed and we have a heat wave.
