Perfect conditions on Mont Blanc

The conditions for ski mountaineering on Europe’s highest peak were almost perfect yesterday. I was climbing and skiing with Kaz and Pete, who had spotted the good weather forecast and had given me a last minute call for the trip. Ski Mont Blanc – with helicopter assistance

On wednesday (15th April 2015) I had another “first” – guiding Mont Blanc, on skis, with a helicopter start. Guiding for Mountain Tracks over three days, I had two level 4 (the top level) Basi ski instructors, Dave and Lara. Quite a mixed couple of weeks since the last blog. Our stable spring weather came to an abrupt end, which coincided with six days off and friends visiting. I had planned some big mountain days with Matt, but a week of high winds at altitude put paid to that.
