The best start to the ski season in years

After a few years of drought at the start of the ski seasons, finally, we’ve had a huge dump of snow to set us up for the season and to make the Christmas skiers happy! At 1500m we’ve got over a meter of snow, and at 2500m over two meters – according to the metro France avalanche bulletin. Going along with this amount of snow is obviously a high avalanche warning, with many releases and sadly, also some accidents. Ski Touring anywhere at the moment requires some very careful judgment. There’s more snow in the forecast too. We’ve had our first few days of ski guiding this season, with some mini tours and off piste, all on low angled terrain or even skiing powder on the piste!
