- Useful Info
Our primary alpine base is the world mountaineering capital – Chamonix, France
Here we can rock climb in the valley, as well as heading into the highly accessible mountains on both sides of the valley. Chamonix also has Mont Blanc on it’s doorstep and in fact the mountain dominates the skyline from the town centre.
One of the big advantages of basing ourselves in Chamonix is the fact that we are pretty central in the alpine range and we often head to the nearby alpine bases of Zermatt, Arolla and the Grand Paradiso national park after completing our training peaks around Chamonix.
In the winter it’s a similar story, with fantastic glacial skiing right from Chamonix such as the Valley Blanche and the Grand Montet, and we also have some excellent tree skiing in the nearby resorts of Saint Gervais, Megeve and Courmayeur in Italy.
Our UK base is in the South-West of the UK on top of Dartmoor
We are perhaps a little biased, but Dartmoor and the coast lines of the South-West have some of the most picturesque and spectacular rock climbing in the UK. The granite tors that litter the tops of Dartmoor have a great variety of rock climbs for beginner and expert alike, all within a stones throw of some excellent ice cream vans and pubs!
The sea cliffs are also suitable for a wide range of climbing abilities and styles, starting at Portland where there are many bolted sport climbs climbs, right down to the Cornwall coast, where you can climb golden granite above the Atlantic ocean swells.
