Cosmiques Arete - Aiguille du Midi - Chamonix - France
The super classic mountaineering route of Chamonix, continually interesting climbing high above the valley.
The Route weaves it's way up the arete, with short descents and an abseil half way along. The difficulties are on both snow and rock and the character of the route changes depending on conditions. A must do route!

Intermediate – Some short technical sections and a head for heights required!

March – October. A very reliable route conditions wise.

With such easy access and descent (the route literally finishes at the cable car station) this route can get quite busy in high summer season. An early start from the Cosmiques refuge can work well. Otherwise, be prepared for some waiting at the bottle necks, but theres plenty of photos to take and sandwiches to be eaten.
