La Grave really is a fantastic place. One lift to access some wild terrain, no pistes or ski patrol, just one big mountain!
Perfect for a three day course in off-piste ski guiding, in steep terrain. We skied lots of different runs, discussing and practicing various guiding techniques.
It snowed on our last night of the course, so on our “day off” between courses we met up with a couple of Gavin’s friends for some more skiing, including a great couloir run right down to the valley floor.
I’m totally inspired by this type of guiding, and seriously looking forward to getting back to La Grave sometime soon. But first I’m going to get some good steep millage in Chamonix…
