I haven’t climbed at Anstey’s cove since November (see this post) and today’s bank holiday was a little blustery and cold, thereby keeping the riff raff away and the crag nice and quiet!

Henry, Nick and myself found some shelter on the “Empire” wall that both Nick and Henry wanted to try anyway and I was keen for another go on the extended start known as “not just Empire”.

I didn’t expect too much success today, not having been to the crag  in over five months but it just goes to show that when your relaxed and not worrying about the end result you climb smoother and faster and suddenly find yourself at the top. Yes!

It’s great to have done the route, and it weighs in at about Fr7c, so it’s has inspired me to try some similar routes in Devon.

Here’s a couple of photo’s of Henry and Nick at the crag today.
