Back out on the skis today, for a social half day tour at the great early season venue of Flaine.

We’ve had some great weather out here in the Alps this weekend, and people have been out enjoying it. In fact, for an area where the lifts aren’t even open yet, there are ski tracks everywhere!

Looking across to Mt Blanc from Flaine.

After about 500m of uphill at a social pace, we had a good ski down a NE facing couloir on the Tete de Veret.

Nice weather.

A little bit of steep skiing preceded a nice pitch of powder. My legs are feeling a little rusty skiing wise, but its great to get out and get them going again.

After a quick skin uphill we had a few more powder turns to get back to the car. Some great snow around, but lots of rocks lurking under the thin cover.

There’s more bad weather, and therefore snow, due next week. Bring it on!
