Congratulations to Chamonix locals Ross and Tim, guided by Phil on Mont Blanc. Perfect conditions for a summit ski, via the North Face all the way back to town. Top effort!
Surely one, if not the longest, heli drops in the alps, the boys were dropped off at the Piton des Italia on the border of France and Italy. From there it is about a 900m climb to the summit along the Gouter route. After a few attempts at doing this over the past few weeks, the weather finally came good with clear skies and light winds. Pretty essential for flying at that altitude.
I’m quite jealous of those photos…..
We are back up there again soon via the Grand Mulet route, and will post conditions updates when we can.
