Tricky conditions at the moment in Scotland, with a mega thaw setting in which is busy stripping away the snow that had built up in Scotland during December.

A friend of mine, Henry, is up at the moment practicing his Scottish winter skills, and we headed into the corrie with the intention of getting on something challenging if we could find something in condition. Warm and windy was the order of the day, and it was quickly apparent that the best option would be a “mountaineering” day on some of the easier gullies.

The snow is pretty good in the gullies, but there’s a lot of loose rock around and you certainly wouldn’t want to be climbing behind other teams at the moment.

Let’s hope the snow sticks around for a while yet….
