I’ve been using this for: One Month
Where?: Skiing and Ski Touring in the Alps
Official website: Mens Top – Damart Website – Ladies Top – Damart Website
These thermals are on the warmer end of the scale –15 to –5 degrees.
We got sent the men’s and ladies version, we’ve given both versions a testing.
Good Stuff:
Flat seams, noticeable in contrast to the soft fleece inner, however no itching when your wearing as rucksack etc. Pretty comfortable to wear, some thermals get itchy when they’ve been worn for a while.
Good length in the body even in an x-small ladies, (a lot of thermals come up to short body in the smaller sizes). Great no gapping even when arms are raised above head.
Warm, a winter only thermal I reckon, they do lighter weight versions as well of course.
A very affordable thermal, at the bottom end of the price range whilst still being well worth buying.
Not so good bits:
It’s not merino wool! Actually for a synthetic thermal it does pretty well on the odour front.
I’ve given it a pretty good testing, up hill in the morning and then skiing all afternoon. Yes, it will pong a bit but not too bad. For (almost) totally odour free thermals you can’t beat wool in my opinion.
A little bit more length in the arms would be better, especially for winter sports when you want your wrists covered. That definitely makes a difference warmth wise. The ladies could benefit from being slightly snugger on the arm width, found there was a lot of excess material, reducing the close fit thermal benefit’s, however for a different body shape it maybe absolutely fine .
This is a functional but basic thermal top, which you would expect from the price.
Conclusion:
An affordable winter thermal. Don’t expect top of the range performance, but good for the odd skiing trip in the winter.
