Skiing off the lift at Grand Montet, pretty busy this time of year, and lots of “growlers” lurking in the moguls.

The lift queue at Le tour was over an hour during the week. Sod that! Skins on and get some exercise uphill, and some quiet skiing.

Trail running pre-dawn in the valley. The moonlight shines through the trees on my local run, illuminating the trail enough not to use the head torch. The camera phone doesn’t quite capture the same effect.

They shut all the lifts at Le Tour last week due to the windy weather that was due later in the day. A bit of exercise gave three really good descents, and back home for elevenses before the weather.

Andy Perkins enjoying finding untracked snow at the Grand Montet, before the busy Christmas week that is.

The warm wind dried the lower south facing slopes enough for a training session on the “vertical Kilometer” course above Chamonix. Good fun giving the brother in law Chris a good beasting on the relentless hill!

Powder in Italy. I’m just starting to get to know Courmayeur a little better, and it’s always good to ski with knowledgeable friends. Cheers Stu!

Another late night uphill Skimo session above Les Houches. Not a great time for the headtorch to pack up though. Ski by brail.

Observing Stuart macdonal running an Avalanche Acadamy course out of Chamonix. Three days of skiing and looking at snow.

I’ve been doing a reasonable amount of training for climbing, including some good sessions dry tooling down the valley. Pretty brutal.
