I had a great introduction to the 2010/11 season up in Scotland today. Cold, clear skies and great mixed climbing conditions in Glen Coe at the moment.

We headed up to one of my favorite crags, Stob Coire Nan Lochain. This cliff is one of the most popular in Glen Coe as there’s plenty of easier gulley’s as well as harder mixed climbs.

We went to climb “Crest Route” a four pitch grade V, 6 on the right hand side of the coire. The cliff was white and the cracks free of ice – perfect! Bomber “hooks” and plenty of gear all the way, a perfect start to the winter season.

I would say all the mixed routes in the coire are in pretty good nick at the moment. Teams were out on Dorsel arete, original route, central grooves and tilt I think.
