The summer’s arrived and so have the climbers.
After what seemed to be a damp start to the spring, summer has arrived in all its glory. Along with the sun, the climbers are coming out to enjoy what Devon has to offer. I met my guys at the Dewerstone an ideal location for first time climbers, or for those who haven’t climbed in a while. We climbed some amazing long routes; they were enjoyed so much we decided to come back the next day. Sunday turned out to be another scorcher but at least Dewerstone offers a bit of shade for a belayer. We climbed Route B, Mucky Gully, Reverse Cleft and Colonels Arête with Dave leading the final two pitches of the latter. A great venue with excellent climbs for beginners or the experienced with fine Dartmoor granite and a stunning location, a great weekend was had by all.
