Climbing again after a break can be a bit frustrating. Getting tired on the old warm ups can be off putting, and is enough to put some people off even starting again.

A common sense approach is all you need really. Lot’s of easy millage, concentrating on technique and above all enjoyment of the climbing itself. Strength and the old grades will come quickly enough, and it’s not fun jumping right into “training” sessions right away – just go and do some climbing!

After about five or six weeks off rock climbing (I’ve been mountaineering in China, no arm strength involved) I’ve had a few outings this last week. Mainly some easy bouldering, and yesterday I had a afternoons trip to my local sport climbing crag, Torbryan.

A few climbs on my favorite climbs, and some photography when I needed to rest the forearms…
